Although our attitudes towards food and drink have subtly changed over the years, there will always be truisms against logic, reason and our own advantage. Some of these truisms is that it can not really be fun because it's healthy for you. Hence the hamburger and fries lure us because it's more "fun" than the safer alternatives. This must be, of course – why should we eat the less nutritious.

The feeling has been that nutritious eating is tasteless, bland, and even off-putting for some time. We both know a salad is healthier for us than a hamburger so we're opting for the burger because it's got more flavor – or so the idea goes anyway. Yet there is no justification for this to be the case. Every meal will become more exciting with the introduction of a little spice.

As people embark on a diet, it is always given to note that how often they enjoy a certain food would be the main check for them. This has to be kept to a diet to be successful – even to the point that people who have shed weight on a diet put it all back on just weeks after returning to their old ways.

It's not unusual to find a person that doesn't understand why they can't lose weight, and hates the fact that while they do all the right foods, their weight remains along the threshold of "few pounds overweight."

If eating healthily was as simple as it could be, otherwise there will be doldrums in the diet business – magazines, DVDs, diet plans themselves and workout equipment. The fact it thrives to this day is a sign that dieting is not easy or straightforward, as much as we would like to think.

Most of us can really say we wouldn't love the opportunity to eat more regularly in a decent restaurant and there's no excuse we would turn our backs on restaurant food until we go on a diet. The reality of the matter, however, is that dining at a restaurant is not a gamble, since there are no safe choices or even minimal, but we learn very little about the healthier alternative.
